If you’re new to the Google Home experience, you may not be familiar with the host of Easter Eggs available. These are hidden gems, pre-programmed into your device. There are a series of questions and prompts that can unleash hilarious responses, fun games, and hours of entertainment.

Google Home has more tricks and tips up her sleeve. The approaching holidays mean, more potential fun with Google Home. Tap into these Halloween family-friendly Easter Eggs and Spooktacular fun commands, to keep the whole family entertained!

Halloween Easter Egg Commands

Ask these fun and Halloween-inspired questions to your Google Assistant. You’re sure to land a few smiles and laugh out loud moments with the little ones.

Ok Google, Let’s Get Spooky

Say this command to your device and get an hour’s worth of spooky fun noises and sounds. This is the perfect background for any upcoming Halloween parties you might have or just general ambiance for doling out candy to your neighborhood trick-or-treaters. If your device is connected to your home lighting, they may just flicker along with the creepy sounds and noises.

Ok Google, Scare Me

Settle in with your favorite blankets. Prop that flashlight under your chin and ask your Google Home Mini to scare you. You might just get a haunted tale, with a hint of sarcasm and comedy. Giggle through the host of stories your Google might have up her sleeve.

Google, What Should I Be For Halloween?

Are you or your kids stumped when it comes to costume ideas this year? Consider asking your Google Home device for her input. She may inquire with a series of questions to help better understand your preferences but then will come up with some realistic ideas for you. You may not like her responses, but it can still be fun to have the kids ask and engage Google’s suggestions.

Hey Google, Share Facts About Monsters

Ask your assistant to tell you everything you need to know about iconic movie monsters, myths, and legends. Turn a monster question into a learning and history lesson too!

Hey Google, Show Me Vampire Face Paint

Believe it or not, your Google Smart Display can help you with a variety of face painting tutorials. Try asking for a zombie face paint video, or even skeletons. Find the help you need and easily add those cosmetics to your shopping list at the same time.

Hey Google, Trick or Treat

Launch an interactive and child-friendly story platform, and let the kids spend some time exploring your GA’s haunted house. They’ll be introduced to a mystery and host of characters, including Mr. Mummy and Willow, the Friendly Witch. This Google Home Easter Egg is ideal for costumed little ones, waiting not-so-patiently to go trick-or-treating themselves.

Hue Smart Lights Upon Command

Philips Hue works with Google Home products. Get your device setup and control your lighting via your Google Assistant. Use the lighting commands for basic functions, or Halloween fun themed lighting!

A Few Basic Light Control Commands Include:

  • Hey Google, turn on the lights.
  • Hey Google, turn off the bedroom lights.
  • Hey Google, dim the lights in the family room to 30%.
  • Hey Google, turn the lights purple.
  • Hey Google, set the kitchen lights to orange.
  • Hey Google, wake me up at 5:00 am. (Your hue lights will begin illuminating 30 minutes prior)

You won’t have a shortage of color options. You’ll even be able to design your own scenes and recipes, to put cool names on scientifically confirmed lighting preferences for any activity, in any room of the house.

For example, you could say:

  • Hey Google, turn on Honolulu in the bedroom.
  • Hey Google, turn on the Autumn Gold scene in the living room.
  • Hey Google, set the lights in the kitchen to high energy.

Google Home Pumpkin Carving Ideas

Google Home can help provide inspiration and family-friendly ideas for pumpkin carving and decorating. Use your Smart Display and pull up a host of Disney, Fortnite, or cartoon-related suggestions. Voice command searching can be your best friend when you’re elbow-deep in pumpkin goo.

Halloween Spooktacular Playlist

Consider adding your favorite Halloween themed songs a specific playlist. Using Google Play music, Pandora, or Spotify, you can voice command it anytime throughout your costume party or sleepovers with the children’s friends. Get everyone in the mood to decorate the house, prepare the candy bowls, and carve the pumpkins.

Halloween Task Reminders

Put your Google Assistant to good use and set reminders for yourself to turn on your porch light at a specific time, for trick-or-treaters. Or, add last-minute candy or party favors to your shopping lists. Schedule timing for activating your favorite Halloween decors.

Other Cool Google Home Tricks, Treats & Games

If you just need something entertaining, to occupy the kids while you prepare for the upcoming Halloween party or trick-or-treating adventure, Google Home has you covered. Here are a few games, sure to keep the little ones engaged.

Hey Google, let’s play Ding Dong Coconut

This association game uses a variety of sounds and assigns them to various terms. It’s a memory game that children will have to pay attention to, in order to win.

Hey Google, talk to Song Quiz

This pop music game features song clips, from your choice of an era.

Ok Google, I want to talk to Akinator

This game is much like 20 Questions and is hosted by a fun genie character.
