If your Amazon Echo is unresponsive or you want to pass it on to someone else, you should reset it. To reset your Amazon Echo, take the following steps.
How to factory reset your Amazon Echo:
Time needed: 2 minutes
Applies to Amazon Dot (3rd generation), Echo (3rd generation), Echo Plus (2nd generation) and Echo Studio.
- Press and hold the action button for 25 seconds.
- Wait for the light ring will flash orange, then turn off.
- Wait for the light ring to turn back on and turn blue.
- Wait for the light ring will then turn orange again.
Once the ring light turns orange again it means the Echo has been reset.
