Amazon’s line of Echo speakers are filled with tonnes of helpful features. One popular way to use your Echo is to stream audio via Bluetooth from your smartphone. Before you start using your Echo as a Bluetooth speaker, you’ll need to pair it to your phone. Here’s how to use your Amazon Echo as a Bluetooth speaker.

For best results, make sure you’re within 20-30 feet from your Echo speaker.
- Get your phone ready
Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth signal and go to the Bluetooth settings screen. Next, put your phone into Bluetooth discovery mode.
- Say, “Alexa, connect to Bluetooth”
Alexa will respond by saying, “searching”.
- Select your Echo speaker from the list of discoverable devices
Once connected, Alexa will say, “connected to [your phone’s name]”.
Once you’ve connected your phone’s Bluetooth to your Echo speaker, all audio, including from video, music, notifications and phone calls, will play though the Echo.
To disconnect your phone from your Echo speaker say, “Alexa, disconnect from my phone”.
You won’t need to follow the above pairing process each time you want to reconnect your phone to the same Echo speaker. To reconnect, just say, “Alexa, connect to my phone”.
